New Road Worcester Pitch Report
The surface at the County Ground, New Road, provides plenty of assistance to the batters. It is a belter of a track and the batters enjoy batting here. The short boundaries help their cause and we have seen the bowlers often missing their mark while bowling at this venue.
The surface tends to be flat and offers a good amount of pace and bounce, perfectly ideal for stroke play and high-scoring games. The batsmen can enjoy true bounce, making it easier to time their shots. In addition, the fast outfield makes sure that the well-placed shots reach the fence before any fielder.
However, the pitch tends to get a bit slower as the game goes by, which makes it difficult for the stroke players. The Spinners might also come into play during the middle overs, getting everything on offer from the surface. Hence, the team winning the toss would like to bat first on this surface before the pitch faces any wear and tear.
